Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine is a mercurial musician and singer who blends soul gospel jazz and R&B to create a unique mix. From Broadway to European events and bars, the singer has done work everywhere. Sunshine has been born Denise White. Although she is based in Atlanta, her roots are located in Chester Pennsylvania. There she started to grow as an artist by playing the piano as well as singing in churches. In Atlanta she attended Spellman College where her musical training began on the Atlanta's R&B Scene. The Fighting Temptations The first single with her vocals was called Stalk You an exclusive house 12 that was released exclusively in Japan; it has since been remixed by numerous producers, and has become a part of her live set. Her voice was also featured on the soundtrack for The Fighting Temptations. In 2005, she was the lead keyboardist for Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy- as well as Tony Award winning vocalist who was part of the stage production Dreamgirls at the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, she was approached by Tyler Perry to be the director of choral for the stage production. Sunshine was brought to the attention of people across the nation through 4 performances per day during 2008's Democratic National Convention. Sunshine was later requested to sing with President Barack Obama at his inauguration.
